Funeral at Myers Chapel Saturday 2:00 pm with Rev J G Parsons and Rev Everett Apgar. burial Oakwood Cemetery. Survives include brother Reginald Harris and four sisters all of Mt Vernon.

Willis Hunt aged 74 of 1012 Prairie Avenue died at 5 30 this morning at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital. The body was taken to Drake Funeral Home in Benton. Funeral services set for Saturday at 2 00 PM at Ten Mile Church near McLeansboro with viewing at the Benton funeral home prior to the service.

Mrs. W A Cope of Fairfield Road learned of the death of John Ray Bell 21 formerly of Mt. Vernon and Effingham at a train crash near Brownstown last Saturday. Funeral services were held at 2 p m in Effingham. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Sam Bell. He is survived by his wife a 2 1 2 month old child three brothers and two sisters. The Bell family moved from Mt. Vernon.

Mt Vernon motorists have purchased twenty two parking stickers at 35 dollars each. City Clerk Lester Davis announced that the stickers allow free parking at any city meter. Last year’s stickers are honored through Saturday June 2 and may be obtained at city hall.
