George Paul Shorty Mays 52 of 505 S 24th St. Mt. Vernon died Tuesday at Good Samaritan Hospital. A retired carpenter, he will be buried at South Hickory Hill with VFW graveside honors. Survivors include Dorothy Morgan Mays, four sons, one daughter, two brothers, one sister and one grandson. Funeral 1:30 p.m. Friday at Myers Chapel. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Thursday. He was born May 12, 1923 in Mt. Vernon.
