Lee H Boswell 73 of 2114 Logan Street died at 10 45 p m Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospital He was a longtime teacher and coach including principal roles at Dix Nasan Woodlawn Inn and Mills Prairie and later taught at Summersville He held roles in local church leagues softball associations and the Jefferson County Park and Recreation Commission Funeral services will be at Logan Street Baptist Church at 1 30 p m Sunday with burial in Palestine Cemetery Omaha Ill He is survived by his wife Wilma Barnard, one brother, three aunts, one uncle, nieces and nephews. preceded in death by a brother.

Near Harrisburg Bridge Caves In Fatal Crash

Otis Baker, 61, of Golconda, died Thursday when a Pope County bridge collapsed as the truck he rode in overturned four miles southwest of Hamburg. Driver Jerry Billington, 27, also of Golconda, suffered major injuries and was hospitalized.

Pickup Wreck Leaves Passenger Slightly Injured

A pickup driven by 17 year old Max T Thackery jumped a curb at 7 04 p m Thursday at 19th and Logan Streets hitting a utility pole. Thackery was charged with driving while intoxicated and passenger William J Byerley 18 of 224 N 4th St was treated and released for minor injuries at Good Samaritan Hospital. The truck suffered major damage.

Mt Vernon Approves Interstate Subdivision Plat for Bonanza Site

Mt. Vernon City Council in a special session granted preliminary and final approval to the First Interstate Subdivision plat at the former West Salem School site. Itinerant Workers Escape Robbery Attempt Near Cobden
