Death of Shirley Ann McSparin at age 15 in Stonefort

Shirley Ann McSparin, 15, of 1207 S 16th St, died yesterday at Barnes Hospital St Louis after two months’ illness. Funeral services set for 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Stonefort Baptist Church with Rev George Smith officiating. Burial in Pleasant Ridge cemetery. Born March 3 1945 in Saline County to Edgar and Mabel Hill McSparin. Survivors include her brother Sgt Harold McSparin in the U S Marines at Wichita Falls Tex and grandparents Mr and Mrs Charles McSparin of Stonefort.

Senator Everett M. Dirksen was advised the contract for a new Ashley post office has been signed with Frank and Agatha Kyte of Lansing Michigan. Groundbreaking will occur soon with completion set for January 1 1961. The 10 year lease includes renewal options and the building features 1985 square feet interior space a cannon stone brick and concrete block exterior and 240 square foot loading platform plus 6926 square feet of parking and truck maneuvering area. Paris AP reports George Claude French scientist and inventor of neon light gases died today. He advanced liquefying air and separating neon and other rare gases enabling large scale production used in city advertising signs. Claude aided poison gas development in World War I and was later imprisoned for collaboration with Germany. Boat capsizes in Ohio River drownings reported

ELIZABETHTOWN Kentucky resident Tosh McCormick of Carrsville died when a boat with four people capsized in the Ohio River on Saturday. A ferry crew rescued the other three. BB Shooters Warned Here by Police Chief

Police Chief John Wielt cautioned youngsters against firing BB guns in residential sections after several damage reports.
