Former Jefferson county resident Mrs Mabel Bruegman age 55 died last Saturday in Good Samaritan hospital. Born May 4 1901 in Jefferson county she was daughter of Henry and Cora Allen and sister of Mrs Everett Talbott of Mt Vernon. Services were held in Kansas City and burial followed at Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens.
Mildred Sheldon of Wayne City Illinois died Sunday in Rochester Minnesota at 1 p m Funeral services are planned for Thursday at 2 p m at Bailey Church north of Wayne City Rev H H Mayberry will officiate burial will follow in Bailey cemetery She was wife of C P Sheldon of Aggleton Texas and mother of Patsy and Karen Jo She is also survived by a sister Mrs Harlan Greenwalt of Wayne City Funeral details include body lying in state at Richardson chapel.
Julia Ann King, 80, of 2105 Cherry, died at Good Samaritan Hospital at 8 30 am. She was the wife of Bedford King. Funeral arrangements have not been made. The body was removed to Myers Chapel.
Wallace, Ky. Uncle John Osborne marked his 101st birthday in Kentuckian country life. He claims 416 descendants including 13 children. His daughter Ellen Steele hosted a small party with a pink and green cake as observers noted his frailty and lack of a doctor for three years.

Mr and Mrs Richard Kinche loe of Norman Oklahoma welcomed a daughter Debra Sue born May 22 at Norman Municipal Hospital. Mr and Mrs Gail D Peacock of San Diego California welcomed Melinda June born May 14 in that city hospital. Mrs Ollie Peacock of the local city is grandmother. Mr and Mrs Bobbie McGee of Bluford RFD 3 greeted Patricia Lynn born at 2 01 yesterday at Good Samaritan Hospital weighing eight pounds one ounce. Mr and Mrs Raymond D Lewis Jr of 2521 College welcomed a son Donald Edward born at 7 40 this morning at Jefferson Memorial Hospital weighing eight pounds.
Members of the VFW will meet at the Dug-Out tomorrow evening May 24 at 7 30. Marvin McKinney adjutant. Memorial services will follow the meeting. brief notes indicate routine adjutant duties and post activities.

Thompson president elect and Dr. Mary Markle secretary treasurer Plans for a local school next fall are being arranged and interested doctors should register with Dr. Markle in Centralia The charter was presented by Dr L M Robbe of Joliet to the three officers.
Funeral services for the Rev. Harvey B. Musselman were held in Allentown Pennsylvania. The sermon was preached by the deceased from a tape recording of his final public message. Musselman died Friday at age 88 after a long ministry. The sermon reflected on the 91st psalm The happy state of the Godly.

Eisenhower discusses Western world slippage versus the Communist bloc in foreign policy. He says such slippage is likelier on the free world side than under totalitarian regimes and cautions against excessive pessimism.
