Mrs Maude Shaw aged 73 years 11 months six days died at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Funeral Monday 2:00 pm at the Pulley Funeral Home with Rev C L Finley officiating. Burial in Desoto Til cemetery. She leaves six sons and five daughters among 20 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Randall Lee Morgan infant son of Mr and Mrs Lewis Morgan of RFD 1 Mr Vernon died at 105 pm yesterday at Good Samaritan Hospital. Born at 721 am yesterday grave side services set for 200 pm today at South Hickory Hill cemetery Rev Marsh Harpole to officiate. Survived by parents Lewis and Opal Morgan.
Two persons were injured in a two car crash at 4 30 p m yesterday on U S Route 460 at Woodlawn Road west of Mt Vernon. Leslie W Waltman 43 of St Louis and Frank Rofanski of RFD Ashley drove the cars involved. Mrs Isabel Waltman 43 and her son Ralph 12 were thrown from the St Louis car suffering bruises and abrasions. Mrs Waltman spent the night at Jefferson Memorial Hospital her injuries were not believed to be serious. The youth did not require hospitalization. State Police Sgt Tom Leffler investigated the accident saying both cars were eastbound and Waltman slowed for a left turning vehicle causing Rofanski to rear end the Waltman car, which spun and struck a pole.

Donald McLean returned from Waterloo Iowa while Earl Outland flew to Decatur and Bill Sims flew to Chicago yesterday and today in brief airport movements.
CHICAGO The Illinois July quota under the Selective Service System is 591 men about half from downstate counties Paul G Armstrong Illinois draft director said the July call will be about six percent of the nation’s total. He noted continued voluntary enlistments in April may spare younger men from induction and in April no registrants under 23 received notices.

Moscow accepts a U S invitation to send 10 to 12 farm experts to study American corn and hog raising methods. A Soviet note said visas would be issued for Americans to return visit mid July. The exchange follows Khrushchev’s demand for more corn and hogs and Eisenhower’s support for delegations.

Ronnie Lee Ellis 13, son of Mr and Mrs Parker Ellis of 1406 South Tenth Street, suffered a severe head injury after a pole vaulting accident at his home late yesterday. He was taken to St Louis for treatment by a special ambulance team.
