Funeral services for Lincoln Hunt, 41, will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday at the Methodist church in Dale with Rev. Marinel Nance and Rev. Claude Lane officiating. Burial follows in Digby cemetery near McLeansboro. The body lies in state at Donelson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. An inquest found the death, ruled a shotgun wound to the chest, was inflicted by an unknown person.

Vernon car shops employee, he will be buried at South Hickory Hill with American Legion Post 141 military rites. Funeral Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Pulley Funeral Chapel. Rev. Wilbur Karch officiating. Burial in South Hickory Hill cemetery. He was born May 21, 1890 in Jefferson county. He is survived by his wife Grace Wells, one son David of Mt. Ammonia Tank Truck Wrecked in Eureka Ill
A tractor trailer carrying a 1000 gallon tank of agricultural ammonia overturned on South Main Street Eureka Illinois forcing a two hour evacuation of a one square mile area. Firemen used water to dissipate the leaking gas. Driver Gordon Pingel 21 of Benson Illinois said a quick stop caused the trailer to jackknife and overturn breaking a valve and releasing gas.

Purse Stolen From Mt Vernon Store Report
Theft of a purse containing 43 dollars was reported to Mt Vernon police at 7 30 last night. Mrs Orillian Lee of 724 South 17th Street said the purse was taken at Mc Craws Sewing Machine Sales and Service at 232 South Ninth Street. The purse was later recovered in the alley behind the store where the thief discarded it.

Mt. Vernon firemen were called at 5 18 p m yesterday to Lincoln school grounds where a tree was on fire. There was some damage to the tree. At 6 28 p m firemen were called to 25th and Lamar where clothing had ignited in a car. There was no damage to the car.
