She married JR Derring in 1944 and lived with sister Bessie Harden in Salem since 1933. Surviving two brothers and one sister. burial in Donoho Prairie Cemetery with services at Osborn Ray Hone in Dix conducted by Rev A P Haney.

A 21 year old Bobby Joe Lampson of Poplar Bluff Mo. was captured after attaching a ride with a former state penitentiary guard. He is accused of beating two farming brothers Ralph and Louis Franklin near Williamsville and robbing them of 1000 dollars. Louis sustained a skull fracture and is in hospital in Poplar Bluff. Ralph is in fair condition. The crime occurred on a lane to the brothers farm and Lampson faces assault and armed robbery charges.

Man Attacked By Pony Loses His Left Arm
William G. Durr a retired farmer in Vandalia was left with his left arm amputated at the elbow after a Shetland pony attacked him while he surveyed fields after heavy rains. Durr remains in Fayette County Hospital in improving condition with broken ribs and possible chest and head injuries. The pony owned by Aubrey Ashcraft of Decatur rents land on a farm near Durrs son in law Don Freeman who reports the animal is vicious and has attacked others before.

Conference Set Here On Handicapped Children
A ten county regional conference on exceptional children, sponsored by the Illinois Commission for Handicapped Children, will be held at the L and N Cafe in Mt. Vernon this Friday May 22.
