Born April 26 1904 in Pinckneyville son of William P Doerr and Belle Kerwin Doerr. On November 19 1921 he married Corydon McElwain who survives along with five sons William Samuel Donald James Fred a daughter Peggy Klein eleven grandchildren three great grandchildren and two brothers James Steelville and George DuQuoin. A brother preceded him in death.

Bribery Charge Indicts Eldorado Businessman
Eldorado businessman Charles Wessell, president of the Saline County Leased Housing Corp, is indicted by a Saline County grand jury for influence peddling bribery. He allegedly accepted a $16,200 bribe on May 2, 1973 from Midwest Mortgage Consultants to sway purchase of a Carrier Mills nursing home by the Saline County Housing Authority. Wessell also serves as cashier of the First State Bank of Eldorado.
