HALSTEAD Kan AP An explosion shattered the Halstead Bank today. No deaths were reported but Harold Rea editor of the Halstead Independent said several persons were taken to Halstead Hospital. The roof of the one story brick center building collapsed and part of a wall was blown out. Furniture and debris were scattered. The bank, which opens at 10 am, normally employs seven or eight people, but it was unclear how many were inside. Cause was not determined. an odor of gas was noted though heating is electric.
