An elder and member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, he pastored several Jefferson County churches. Services Saturday at Myers Chapel at 2 00 pm. burial in Williams Chapel cemetery, Franklin County. Friends may call after 3 00 pm Friday at Myers Chapel. He was born July 24, 1884 near Ewing, Franklin County, son of John and Elizabeth Taylor Cole. On August 21, 1907 he married Birdie May Marshall, who survives, along with son Harold Cole of Mt. Vernon, daughter Leona Cole of Mt. Vernon, sister Mary Butler of Ewing, and brother Obert Cole of Murphysboro, Illinois.
