Death of Former Mt. Vernon Resident Frank Wheeler
Frank Wheeler, age 53, a former Mt. Vernon resident, died yesterday at his home in St. Joseph. Funeral services will be at First Methodist Church in Urbana at 10 a.m. Friday, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery after a 3 p.m. service at Heirs Chapel in Urbana, officiated by Vive aid Green. Wheeler, born August 12 in Belle Rive, was married July 5 to Jessie Bear, who survives, along with his parents, one brother, one grandson, and a sister. He was a member of the A.F. and Knights Templar and S. of Urbana, and formerly foreman at the Mt. Vernon Os, a post arshe rate arm near St. Joseph.

Lee O Neal 40 of Chicago released from Menard prison yesterday was met by Mt. Vernon Sheriff Leonard Smokey Wood and taken to county jail on a detainer warrant charging a confidence game. He allegedly obtained 77.63 at J W Walker Sons in 1955 by writing a bad check and was indicted in May 1955. He remains held in county jail in lieu of bond with a history of bad check passing.
