Leftover Swine Flu Vaccine Stored For Long Term Use
ATLANTA AP Leftover swine flu vaccine valued at about 40 million dollars may be stored for as long as 10 years and still be effective, the CDC said. About 88 million doses, mostly held by states, would be used only in another swine flu scare, though an outbreak of A virus could benefit. Dr. F Donald Millar said such vaccine is usually good 18 months but with proper refrigeration can last a decade. The program was a 135 million dollar measure from Congress under Ford. Millar noted options include central federal storage or state controlled stockpiling, with about half the states responding and a decision in a month.

Survived by two stepchildren, two stepdaughters, two sisters, 16 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by two sons, one daughter, a grandson, five brothers, two sisters, and one great-granddaughter.
