Funeral services for Fred Vaughn 70 of Ashley will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hogan Funeral Home Ashley with Gary Glover officiating. Burial will be in Ashley cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today. Vaughn died Sunday morning at Washington County Hospital Nashville. He was a retired truck driver born February 10 1905 in Ashley son of Thomas and Emma Vaughn. He married Kathryn Trenary in 1930 in Nashville who died in 1968. Survived by daughters Roberta Glover Peoria and Fern Butterfield Waterloo Iowa.

Man Fined 2000 After Pleading Guilty To Break In
A Mt. Vernon man Douglas Hilliard, 21, was fined 2000 and placed on five years probation after pleading guilty in circuit court to burglary for breaking into Sharp's Fine Foods on June 30, 1974. He must observe an 1130 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew and pay 87.67 restitution. Another youth, Gregory Bryan, 17, was fined 100 and ordered to restitution 100 for stealing an air conditioner from Hotel Emmerson. A second Hotel Emmerson suspect, William Byerley, 17, was charged but not yet tried.
