Jesse J Farthing 75 of Bonnie died at 115 am in Good Samaritan Hospital He was born May 18 1886 in Bonnie son of James Edward and Sarah Mendenhall Farthing Survived by wife Evalena Farthing two sons Max Farthing of St Anne IL Wallace Farthing Mt Vernon IL one daughter Thelma Adams Bonnie six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by one son Services at 2 pm Monday at Church of God Bonnie Rev West officiating Burial Kirk Cemetery near Ina Funeral home Ina will receive friends after 8 am Sunday
Oscar Williams 74 of Route 4 Bonnie died at 9 00 a m Friday at home His funeral will be at 2 30 p m Sunday at Inn Free Will Baptist Church with Reverends Marsh Harpole and Carl Williams officiating Burial will be in Kirk Cemetery north of Ina Friends may call after 1 00 p m today Williams born August 16 1887 in Ina son of John H and Isabelle Acord Williams He was first married to Vennie Cook who died in 1915 He later married Noma Shelton surviving He also leaves one son Vester L Williams Mt Vernon one stepson Virgil Shelton Mt Vernon a brother Walter Williams Ina a sister Mrs Laura Allen Ina seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services for 63 year old Wiliam Ivan Robison are scheduled Sunday at 2:00 pm at Moyers Chapel with Rev Howard Loty officiating. Burial will follow at Kirk Cemetery. Friends may call at Myers Chapel after 4:00 pm today. Robison, a former resident of Mr. Vernon, died yesterday in a Sikeston Missouri hospital and lived in Teast Prairie Missouri.

The family had sold their Philadelphia home after quitting work and planned a tourist trip that turned into a realization the move was a mistake. Johnson claimed not to have joined the Communist Party but supported its causes for about a decade.

Kay Gable widow of Clark Gable seen with Robert W. Prescott president of the Flying Tiger cargo airline in Los Angeles. Gable died November 16 1960 and Prescott has been married and divorced.

The Assemblies of God will open a new church here with services beginning around May 20 at the Odd Fellows building on Tenth street. The pastor is Rev. W. H. Fisher formerly of Dallas, Texas, aged 30, married with two children, and experienced in evangelistic work since 1933. Both he and Mrs. Fisher are musically talented. The Assemblies of God headquarters are in Springfield, Missouri, with multiple seminaries a college, publishing house, and nationwide operations.
The American Farm Bureau Federation plans a battle against the House Agriculture Committee approved farm bill. President Charles B. Shuman says Kennedy administration used political pressure to push the bill. He calls it a 1962 version of a prior act and fears it would regiment farmers and shrink net incomes. The group backs a voluntary cropland retirement program with reduced price supports to balance supply and demand.

Urbana report notes 16-year-old Tom Niksch of McLeansboro earned the 1962 Illinois FFA Foundation award in soil and water management. He will receive a plaque at the State Future Farmers of America Convention in Chicago June 6 through 8 and is a candidate for the State Farmer degree.
Glen A. Featherstun of Mt. Vernon joined 27 others in the Washington University REES program honored in St. Louis for outstanding ROTC performance. The Cadet Second Lieutenant received the Chicago Tribune Gold Medal at a Francis Field ceremony with a cadet corps parade. Featherstun, son of Mr and Mrs Art Featherstun, is a junior in business at Washington University.

Pauline Browder filed suit for divorce from Lott C. Browder in circuit court charging cruelty. She seeks custody of four children and alimony. They married May 18, 1949 and separated January 15, 1962.
A freak bolt during a severe thunderstorm hit a house in Bluefield West Virginia at 4 am yesterday or yesterday morning. The strike startled the Harry Jones family and left the television on until the power cord was removed. No injuries were reported.
