John M. Shurtz of Waltonville dies at 92 at his son Henry Shurtz home. He was oldest director of Jefferson County Mutual Fire Insurance since 1904. Born September 5, 1862, he married Hattie Nowland in 1882. Survived by wife predeceased, son Henry, daughter Edith, six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, sister Sarah Carver, and several half siblings. Funeral Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Waltonville Methodist Church. Body at Fry Funeral Home. friends may call.
