DeWitt Heads T B Association Report on Year
C C DeWitt was reelected president of the Jefferson County Tuberculosis Association at the annual meeting. Officers elected include Dave Furnall as vice president Sidney Hirons second vice president Donald Grant treasurer and Mildred Warren secretary Silas Echols was reappointed executive secretary for the fourth year. The year’s activities included data cards for 6 302 people chest x rays progress in case finding tuberculin testing for high school freshmen and x ray follow ups, county nursing service with a full time nurse, a campaign for the sanatorium tax, and the largest Christmas Seal drive in county history. The board now has 30 members with 15 from Mt. Vernon township and one from each other county division. many named with hometowns and affiliations.
