Edna E Champ of Woodlawn died at 4 30 this morning at her home. Born April 7 1874 in Ashley Northumberland Island she married W R Champ in 1908 who survives. Funeral services Wednesday at 2 00 p m at Mt Catherine church with burial at I O C F cemetery. Friends may call Myers Chapel after 4 00 p m Tuesday. She was a Methodist church member at Salem. She leaves several nieces and nephews.

Illinois Council Meets State Convention for Mentally Retarded
The 1960 Illinois Council for Mentally Retarded Children convention will be in Mt Vernon, first southern Illinois site. About 450 leaders attended the two day session in Springfield with sessions led by Ray Graham and remarks by State Rep Ester Saperstein on a new $12 million, 750 bed school. Governor Stratton hosted delegates and eight individuals received honors for service to mentally retarded children.

Property damage totaled about 700 after two car crashes in Mt Vernon on Saturday.
