Seven Champaign teens arrested in gang gun battle

In Champaign Illinois seven teens were arrested and 16 more had warrants issued after a half hour gun battle between rival gangs in a predominantly Black neighborhood. Three youths were wounded and listed in satisfactory condition. The clash reportedly began at Douglas Recreation Center with bullets hitting cars and a nearby house.

300 Mile Chase Ends in Death in Southeast Texas

In Beaumont Texas AP report details the arrest of Tia Faye Dent 21 and the death of her ex convict husband Robert S. Dent 22 after a 300 mile pursuit that included hostage taking of patrolman J Kenneth Crone 27. The couple fled into a farmhouse at Wheelock north of Bryan where a trap was sprung and Dent was killed by gunfire. The car chase drew 500 vehicles and spanned highways at speeds up to 95 mph. Items including a rocking horse and a battery from a bus were later reported stolen in the county.

Old Council in Final Session New Administration Takes Over

Three Teens Charged With Lumber Burglary
