Pilot Goes Berserk And Kills Eight
In Zamboanga Philippines a charter flight carrying military personnel ended in tragedy when the pilot opened fire with an M16 after stepping from the cockpit. Seven soldiers or sailors and a 26 year old stewardess died, with five others dying at once. Crewmembers and passengers overpowered the pilot and copilot landed the DC3 safely. Fall Kills U of I Student At Eight Floor Window
Champaign Illinois reports the death of Michael Kusmanoff age 23 of Wood River after a fall from an eighth floor dormitory window at Siii Towers. He died of massive brain damage about six stories below. Police did not release the cause or comment on the incident. Witnesses said he entered a room registered to four girls and their attempts to stop him failed.

Brothers Mauled by Dog in Algonquin Farmyard
Two rural Algonquin brothers Owen Braasch six and Gerald five were mauled by their family’s 100 pound German shepherd in the farm yard. They were treated for bites to face and head and are in fair condition at Elgin Hospital. Stepfather Edward Gonterman said the dog had been warned away from children and that Owen removed the stakeout chain. The dog was formerly a private security patrol dog.
