In Birdseye Indiana 40 year old farmer Russell Hollowell killed two neighbors Frank Crocket 38 Nolan Crocket 35 and Mrs Pearl Crocket 70 then killed himself. Hollowell confessed before dying that a lost billfold sparked the dispute over alleged theft near Evansville and Louisville.

A five to six foot king cobra escaped from a reptile dealer's car during a burglary attempt in Denver. Police searched for hours with no sighting while a carload of assorted reptiles and 400 snakes including rattlers and boa constrictors were involved.
