James Pelz of 700 Jordan learned his sister Mrs Ed Waldschmidt died yesterday at her home 950 SE 16th Avenue Portland Oregon Funeral services and burial will be in Portland Oregon.
HOLLYWOOD AP Lance Reventlow and Jill St John wed in a simple ceremony in San Francisco with a 20 million dollar aura. The 24 year old racer and son of Barbara Hutton’s prior marriage married 19 year old Jill in the Mark Hopkins Hotel. A small crowd attended as California Supreme Court Justice Marshall McComb officiated. The couple then flew to Los Angeles to begin their married life at Lance’s Benedict Canyon home.
The Chicago Daily News Building at Madison Street and the Chicago River was sold for 60 million dollars to Riverside Plaza Corp organized by Oliver S. Turner and Clifford A. Zoll. Field Enterprises will move Daily News operations to the Chicago Sun-Times Building, with air conditioning upgrades planned for the block-long 1929 structure.
John Donovan of 309 South Second Street was rushed to Jefferson Memorial yesterday afternoon after suffering a heart attack. Firemen gave oxygen before he was admitted. Hospital staff reported he is in fair condition today.

Mr and Mrs Keith Thibault of 7737 Ruddy Lane St Louis Mo welcomed daughter Kathryn Grace born March 23 at St Luke s Hospital weighing four pounds nine ounces. Grandparents are Rowland Fenton and Zella Thibault. Theodore Bryant Dearinger of Rock Hill Mo and wife welcomed son Theodore Bryant Jr born March 2 at Deaconess Hospital weighing eight pounds 11 ounces. Grandparents Heber Goddard Lowell Dearinger. Milton Burns and wife welcomed daughter Shelby Leigh born at 1 56 this morning at Good Samaritan Hospital weighing seven pounds nine ounces.

The forecast calls for temperatures about 10 degrees below normal across northern and southern Illinois with highs in the upper 40s to mid 50s and lows generally in the 30s. Precipitation totals around one tenth to one quarter inch with light snow or flurries possible in the north and mixed rain or snow mainly in the south by midweek. A fire at 8:30 last night heavily damaged the five room home of Harry Warner on Route 6 a mile north of Summersville school. Firemen report the basement ablaze upon arrival and the blaze burned through the living room and kitchen floors. The Warner children escaped uninjured. a piano fell into the basement. Authorities say the fire likely started around a coal furnace in the basement.
State Treasurer Joseph D. Lohman, seeking the Democratic gubernatorial nomination, said thousands received $100-a-plate dinner invitations for a campaign event in Belleville. He denied bankers were specifically solicited, noting any banker invitations came from a voters list. The letters were signed by John Sprague, head of the St. Clair County Democratic Committee, sponsor of the dinner.
Khrushchev and De Gaulle held a two hour discussion with emphasis on Germany. Khrushchev pressed for closer Soviet French ties while De Gaulle remained courteous and avoided public clashes to keep the visit from turning into propaganda. Testifying on a proposed southern or northern Evansville to Illinois interstate route, officials and citizens from Indiana and Illinois argued for a southern path near Grayville and a northern course near Vincennes. Two armed convicts Robert Rivera and Raymond Farra surrendered after a 25 hour siege at the Tennessee Penitentiary. They handed over two pistols and four knives, releasing 19 hostages unharmed. The men’s demands were scaled down and an agreement was signed, stating they would be moved to Davidson County Jail unharmored until habeas petitions are decided. Hostage remarks noted they were never terrified, though frightened by the weapons.
The Soviets initially denounced Eisenhower’s limited treaty proposal then shifted to negotiation. They offered a limited treaty if the three powers pledge an informal moratorium on underground tests. Britain also urged a two year voluntary underground test ban to improve detection and cover all testing later.

Greenville Illinois faces severe water shortages forcing suspension of school physical education showers and closures of launderettes and car wash services. A new well south of town may relieve the crisis, but state health rules require laboratory approval and boiling until testing is finished. Pump levels have fallen since mid March and the shortage worsens daily.
Washington AP The House Appropriations Committee voted sharp increases to Eisenhower’s education and health budgets and backed a strong anti delinquency drive. The panel endorsed a $4.184 billion bill funding HEW and Labor, approving extra money for sewage treatment, schools, and health projects and boosting NIH, Children’s Bureau, and school funding while trimming some department totals.
Washington University School of Dentistry seeks 50 000 baby teeth for a five year study funded by a 197 454 dollar government grant to measure strontium 90 in children near St Louis. Dean Dr Leroy Boling says it may be the largest public participation study of its kind. About 7 500 teeth have already been collected.
Mt. Vernon police investigated a break-in at Mitchell Furniture Store on Ninth Street. A back door glass was broken the previous night to gain entry, but nothing appeared to be stolen.
Chicago law ruling forces certain clubs to admit nonmembers for liquor service. Playboy and Gaslight had operated as members only or with high fees, while Gaslight allowed anyone to buy drinks. Police urged public access under the Liquor Control Act, prompting a city-backed distinction between profit and non profit clubs.
Willard Whipple, 27, of Route 2, Belle Rive, was reported in fair condition at Jefferson Memorial Hospital after being shot Tuesday night by Gary Whipple, 15. The bullet from a 22 calibre rifle ricocheted near his left eye and surgeons expect to preserve his sight.
A little girl injured Wednesday remained in fair condition at Jefferson Memorial. Sherry Denise Wagner, 14 year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Wagner of Benton Road, suffered a broken leg and cuts when struck by a car on South Second Street.
