Joe W. Cummins former Dix resident died yesterday at his San Antonio home at age 60 years three months and five days. Funeral services are set for 10 a m tomorrow at Alamo Funeral Home in San Antonio with burial at Jordan Chapel cemetery near Dix after brief services at Osborn Funeral Home. He was born December 17 1899 in Dix to Omer and Nellie Cummins and is survived by wife Wilma of San Antonio a son Robert of Newton Illinois his mother Nellie of Mt Vernon a brother Nelson of Dix and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Omer on September 22 1946.

Marshall Wesley Hall Jr., 31, died last night at Good Samaritan Hospital after a long illness. Funeral at Myers Chapel Friday at 11 with Rev. Eugene L. Holcomb officiating. burial in Oakwood Cemetery. He was born January 27, 1929 in St. Louis, son of Dr. Marshall W. and Laura Hall, survived by his parents, brother Nelson Hall of Chicago, and grandfather Dr. Andy Hall. He was a member of the First Baptist church.

Edith Fields Smuegai died at 4 a m in a St. Louis hospital at 62. She was a former Mt. Vernon resident. Funeral services are planned in St. Louis with burial there.
