FBI Reopens Probe Amid Claims Involving Three Aides
Atty Gen. Edward Levi says the FBI probe is not targeted at three top aides to Director Kelley. The focus remains on former official John Mohr and the pricing of electronic eavesdropping gear from U.S. Recording Co. The FBI and Justice sources note the probe broadened after testimony about markups, with Willie Keyser’ testimony triggering further scrutiny. Meanwhile, local fundraiser events for the American Cancer Society Crusade report strong starts, including a March 12 chili supper netting 1,083.25 and a Mt. Vernon game substitution raising 1,065.44. The March 27 Farrington School show is planned as the next county event.
