Funeral services for Victor Vowell 45 at Myers Chapel

Victor Vowell of 9316 Castleton Avenue died of a heart attack Saturday night while listening to a state basketball broadcast. He was 45, a Mt. Vernon post office employee and WWII veteran. Surviving are his wife Catherine, parents, a son Johnny, a daughter Mary Ann, and three brothers. Funeral Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Myers Chapel with Rev. Roscoe Othe officiating. Burial Bethel Memorial Cemetery.

Maude Strong Dies at 67 Rites Set for Mt Vernon

Mrs. Maude Mae Strong died at 6:00 p.m. Saturday at her home 416 Herbert street Mt. Vernon aged 67 years two months five days. Funeral services Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel with Rev. Steve Shehorn, interment Oakwood cemetery. She leaves husband Joe Strong and children Bill Ralph Myrtle Alberta Maxine nine grandchildren six great grandchildren three brothers Charley Willard Orley and sister Allie.

Wayne City Rites Today For Laura Belle Allen 82

Funeral services were held at Richardson Chapel for Laura Belle Allen 82 who died March 19 in Hot Springs Arkansas. The Rev Lloyd Trotter conducted the service and burial followed in Garrison Cemetery. Born December 21 1871 in Wayne County she was the daughter of Dan A Turner and Adeline Gammon Turner. Her husband George Allen died in 1925. She is survived by five sons W C Allen Frank S A Allen Thomas and Barney and one daughter Mrs Henry Parrent seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Emma Whetstone of Near Keenes Dies at 72

Mrs. Emma Whetstone aged 72 of the area south of Keenes died today at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. Born January 9, 1882 in Franklin County, she was the wife of the late Elmer Whetstone who died January 7, 1952. Survived by one son Walter Basil Whetstone of Detroit. funeral arrangements were incomplete.
