Funeral for Richard F Boswell Held at Pulley Chapel

Richard F Boswell, 50, died last night at 228 Harrison St. Funeral Sunday at 3 30 PM in the Chapel of the Pulley Funeral Home with Rev Roscoe Hollis officiating. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery with Masonic Lodge in charge at the grave. Body at the Pulley Funeral Home after 4 PM today. Born June 23 1904 in Belle Rive to Aeonats F Boswell and Della T Boswell. Married April 11 1952 in Mt Vernon to Gertrude Ruth Miller who survives. He was a member of Epworth Methodist Church Masonic Lodge and Woodmen of the World. Survived by wife one stepson Gale Lee Patty three stepdaughters Carolyn Patty Mrs Mary Turner of Mt Vernon and Mrs Mamie Smith of Ashley four grandchildren and a half sister Gwendolyn Williams Palm Springs California.

Leslie Howell Dies At 52 Former Mt Vernon Resident

Leslie Howell 52 of Hartford Illinois died at 2:00 am at Memorial Hospital Alton after failing health. Born in Mt Vernon he was son of Jesse and Ida Howell and formerly lived here as a youth. He worked as a salesman and was uncle to Rob Howell of Bluford. Funeral 1:30 pm Monday at Streper's Funeral Home Wood River with burial in the local cemetery.

Three Men Sentenced in McLeansboro Larceny Case

Three men Huell Roger Allen Charles A Wheeler and Buford Davis were sentenced at Menard prison by Judge Charles Randolph after guilty pleas. Allen and Wheeler received one to two years for larceny from Roger James and Company H and H Service Station and the Fowler store on February 14. Davis drew two to five years for guilty plea on latency of Gifford Nelsons automobile. Sheriff Carroll Boster and deputy delivered them to Menard Thursday.
