Atchison Rites At Boyd Today

Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Atchison of Walnut Hill were held at 2 p.m. today at the Boyd Christian church with burial in Boyd cemetery. She died Tuesday night at St. Marys Hospital in Centralia. Surviving are her husband John Atchison a son Lloyd Atchison three daughters Etha Stover Opal Timmons and Louella Crab three brothers Smiley Crane Spencer Crane Ivan Crane and three sisters Lillie Hobbs William Wilson and Gertie Dorris. Twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. The Rev Edwin V Hayden conducted the service.

Rites Sunday for Wayne City Soldier

Wayne City mourns Pfc. Guy H. Buchanan killed on Okinawa May 12 1945. His remains arrived at 11 30 AM with military rites planned at Combs Chapel at 2 PM and burial in Mt Zion cemetery. Survived by parents Guy B. and Ethel Smith Buchanan, four brothers Alva Charles Ralph Vernon and four sisters Lucille Ehrhart Sarah Woody Milly Fotsch Barbara. Member of the 90th Infantry Division. Beds lie in state at Comb's Chapel.

4 H Club Elects Officers and Welcomes Members

The Hams Grove Girls 4 H Club met at leader Lorene Fitzjerrells home on Tuesday evening and elected Georgia Buck president Shirley Ham vice president Barbara Fitzjerrell secretary treasurer Barbara Lynn reporter Shirley Fitzjerrell and Norma Lee Schweinninger recreation directors. Donna and Norma Barker and Kula Jean Storey joined as new members. Bylaws were adopted and guests Bertha Storey Mrs Ruby Buck and Royal Storey attended. The next meeting is at Norma Fitzjerrells home on April 3.

Mr and Mrs Willard Walker of 622 Opdyke report a five pound three ounce daughter born at 4 30 p m yesterday at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. A son was born to Mr and Mrs Reuben A Walker Route 2 at 1240 a m today at Jefferson Memorial Hospital weighing seven pounds six ounces named James Arthur.
