Mt. Vernon friends learn of the death of Harry O. Lown at his San Angelo Texas home on February 5. Former owner of the San Angelo Foundry which operated here in 1954 he is survived by his wife Wedela of San Angelo a son Walter of Shreveport Louisiana and a grandson.
William H. Glenn 63, a Dahlgren farmer and WWI veteran, died at Veterans Hospital Marion. Born July 14 1893 in Hamilton County he married Ferne May Bonesteel March 15 1921. Services Monday 2 p.m. at Belle Prairie Baptist Church. burial at Crouch Creek Cemetery with Legion rites. Survived by four sons Fred and Joseph at home, Charles Sims, William Hunt. daughters Alverda Hunt, Betty Venters. two sisters Martha Thomason and Ida Sinks. ten children total.
Emma Denbo, 86, of Ewing died in Mount Vernon at Setze Nursing Home at 7 15 a m. today. Born in Marysville Missouri in September 1870 she was widow of James Denbo. Survived by five grandchildren four children preceded her in death. Body lies in state after 5 p m today at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren. Funeral arrangements incomplete.
William Bi Gaskill of 121 Opdyke Avenue died at 10 last night at Jefferson Mental Hospital from a heart attack shortly after hospitalization. A welder at Mt Vernon he was 53 years old. Services Monday at 2 p.m. Myers Chapel with Rev. Howard Flora officiating. burial in West Salem Cemetery. Body at Myers Chapel after 8 p.m. Sunday. Born November 56 1903 in Wayne City, son of Horace and Mary Ann Marshall Gaskill. Survived by sisters Mrs Vernan Stevens Wayne City and Mrs Opal Taylor Mt Vernon, plus several nieces and nephews.

MARION Ill William Hinkle 24 Carbondale sentenced today on charge of check forgery to 2 to 5 years. He swallowed a dozen keys Tuesday in County Jail. X rays show none fit his cell. Judge Zimmernan also sentenced Harvey Lingle 21 Marion to 1 to 3 years for auto theft. authorities link him to the "midnight rider" cases with several missing autos.
NEW YORK Only six of 30000 Hungarian refugees admitted to the United States in the last four months have been found tainted by communism, according to Gen. Joseph M. Swing, commissioner of immigration. Swing said he would stake his reputation on the thoroughness of screening. He added these Hungarians have been better screened than any group of escapees in the last nine and a half months.
