Robert Mick, 22, of 921 Warren was arrested in McLeansboro for stealing a 1953 model car from Bayer Motor Co. late last night. State Patrolman Carl Pindell made the arrest. deputies and police returned Mick to Mt. Vernon. Bank Bandit Nabbed Seven Hours After Afton Robbery
Eugene William Buff, 33, released from the Nebraska Penitentiary, was seized in Missouri seven hours after robbing Commercial State Bank of Afton, Iowa. He admitted holding up the bank, forcing cashier R. M. Crandall and four employees into the vault, with a sawed off shotgun and gunny sack. The $25,000 theft occurred Friday afternoon before bank doors closed.
