Mexican octuplets die after birth at Mexico City hospital
Maria Teresa Lopez de Sepulveda 21, mother of octuplets, gave birth Friday night at the 20th of November Hospital. All eight babies, four boys and four girls, died within hours despite efforts to save them. The father Genero Sepulveda Boone, 24, said they expected triplets. An associate noted X-ray readings suggested multiple hearts. The mother was reported in good condition but despondent.

LIBORY Ill AP Carl Hughes 51 of Sparta Alabama was killed and four members of an Eureka Missouri family were injured in a two car crash on Illinois 460 one mile from St. Libory St Clair County deputies said a car driven by Hughes and one driven by Howard Egli 38 of Eureka collided Egli his wife Betty 34 and their two daughters Brenda 14 and Linda 12 were admitted to St Elizabeths Hospital in Belleville All but Brenda are in critical condition Brenda is reported in serious condition.

In South Vietnam a battalion of helicopter borne U S infantry clashed with Viet Cong near Saigon. A U S military spokesman said artillery fire accidentally hit own troops, killing four and wounding eight during fierce fighting. Three U S helicopters were hit. four aboard were wounded.
