Funeral for Raymond Hogue Dies at 56 in Rockford

Raymond Hogue of Rockford died at 1 10 a m at Jefferson Memorial Hospital at age 56. Funeral plans were pending a son serving with the U S Air Force on Okinawa. He is survived by Ruth Greer Hogue his wife four children and many relatives. He was born September 9 1897 and was a member of Parkside Nazarene Church.

Milton Smith 90 Dies at Good Samaritan Hospital

Milton Smith aged 90 died at 8:15 last night in Good Samaritan Hospital. Funeral services set for Thursday at 2:00 PM at East Side Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Dorris officiating. burial in Williams Cemetery. Survived by son Robert C. Smith of Gould Florida and daughter Mrs Alva Merritt of St. si along with 19 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren. Previous spouse Mary F. Spork died in 1936. Body to be moved from Osborn Funeral Home to 1607 South Tenth Street residence after 6 PM.

Relative Bier Mrs Elsie Thornberry Dies in Waterloo

Mrs George Bovard receives word that her sister-in-law Mrs Elsie Thornberry of Waterloo Iowa died Tuesday morning of a heart attack. Thornberry had many Mt Vernon friends and with husband L M Thornberry and three sons survived. The couple planned to celebrate their Golden Wedding anniversary March 29 and the Seovard family planned to attend.

Rich files for divorce in circuit court

Robert H. Rich filed suit for divorce against Estabee Rich in the circuit court here late yesterday. The couple married October 4, 1952 and separated November 17, 1952 according to the complaint. Attorney Joe Frank Allen represents the plaintiff.

United Nations Workshop Planned in Mt Vernon

A United Nations workshop will be held in Mt Vernon on the afternoon and evening of April 27. SEATTLE. Sheriff Harlan Callahan notes inmates in his jail used built in television meters funded by their own money. Prisoners reused slugs by lowering a coin and lifting it again with broom wire. Meters were relocated outside cells and are fed by turnkeys.
