Mrs Pearl Johnson died at Good Samaritan Hospital after a four month illness. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at the Free Will Baptist church with Rev. Paul Suler and Rev. Howard Flora officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. She was born June 24, 1894 in Jefferson county and married Grover Johnson January 24, 1915 in Mt. Vernon. Survived by husband, mother Minnie Green, son Raymond Johnson, one grandchild, one brother George Green, and four sisters Orallee Risley Rose Cook Elsie Atchison Ethel Gaither. Her father and a sister preceded her in death.

A spectacular fire in Chicago's Jackson Boulevard area nearly destroyed the Christian Church and damaged two adjoining West Side buildings.
