Fire Claims Two At Zion Nursing Home Inferno
A blaze at Zion Convalescent Home in Easton Pennsylvania killed five residents and left 14 homeless. Among the dead were Frances Sere 52 and Rosa We, all elderly or bedridden. Eleven residents remained hospitalized with some in private homes.

Patterson gets 45 years for storekeeper murder
Charlow Patterson, 34, pleaded guilty to murdering custodian Cletic Partain, 28, and received a 45 year prison term. Convict Escapes With Four Hostages From Alabama Prison
The escape occurred as a convict being transported from Kilby Prison in Montgomery toward Birmingham to stand trial on a gun possession charge after a prior felony conviction.
