Walter Ray Jones aged 66 of Dahlgren died at 3 30 pm Sunday from an apparent heart attack. Funeral services set for 2 pm Wednesday at Oakdale United Brethren Church near Bluford with burial in the adjoining cemetery. He lies in state at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro after 6 pm today. Born June 17 1895 in Jefferson County he was the son of Charles and Lucretia Jones. Survived by wife Viola Hughes four sons Robert Jones Grand Tower Walter Jones Dahlgren William Jones Columbus Ohio and Clarence Jones Birmingham Alabama. four daughters Gladys Bledsoe Chester Irene Tapley Thebes Mary Lee Hart Glendike Mont and Maxine Cravens Elgin. two brothers Morris Jones Belle Rive and Lee Jones Indianapolis. two sisters Cecile Overturf Mt. Vernon and Alice Hughes Bluford.
