Richard Robert Payne, 23, who was injured in Hawaii in December 1953 while serving with the U S Navy Air Corps, died at 2 30 am today at Hines Veterans Hospital. Funeral plans were pending. body to be brought to Mt Vernon for services and burial. He was the son of Milford and Helen Payne, former Mt Vernon residents now in Chicago. He is survived by a brother Ronald G of Clayton Missouri, a sister Myrna of Chicago, and grandmother Eunice Payne of Chicago.

Damaged Plane Lands Safely With Twelve On Board
CHICAGO The pilot of a shuttle service plane landed safely at O Hare Field Friday after losing a cylinder and part of the cowling of one motor in flight. The 10 passengers and two crewmen escaped injury. Pilot George Herbert, 35, said he made a normal one engine landing and noted trouble getting taxis for passengers afterward. En route from Midway to Park Ridge, the aircraft blew the cylinder over the Northwest Side. the cylinder and cowling struck an auto agency roof but caused no injuries.

President Harlow H Curtice announced February plus January deliveries totaled 42,078 new cars for the first two months, the highest in company history.
