Illinois to halt foreign trained doctors in state hospitals
Governor Thompson orders about 160 foreign trained physicians to stop practicing in Illinois mental health facilities starting today after all 127 who took a Jan. 4 special test failed. Volunteer and fully licensed doctors will replace them as the General Assembly acts. The move could affect more than 11,000 patients if no emergency legislation is enacted by March 1, 1978.

Ill. woman 85 found after three days in bathtub
Mary Benton of Bloomington, age 85, spent three days in a bathtub after slipping and striking her head. A friend found her soaking Thursday. she had no food but was in apparently good condition. Hospitalized overnight for observation, authorities said.

Four Die In Plane Crash Near Du Page Airport
A private plane crashed in fog near Du Page Airport in Illinois early today, killing four people. The craft was en route from the East St. Louis area to the Chicago area. Two bodies were found at the wreckage about a mile from the airport, and two others were found when the plane was raised by a tow truck. The rear-seat victims were found inside. The aircraft caught fire from leaking fuel but firefighters quickly extinguished the flames.

Four East St. Louis men charged in TV thefts
FBI spokesman said four East St. Louis men were charged with stealing RCA televisions from an interstate shipment. William Rogers 30 Warren Rogers 20 brothers Cedric Taylor 18 and James Gibson 19 held on 5000 bond each after police arrested them following a burglary in progress call from the Louisville and Nashville Railroad yard. Four of at least five sets were recovered en route from Indiana to Texas.
