Deaths Chase Piercy Dies At 60 In Mt Vernon

Charles Edgar Piercy 60 died in the afternoon at his home route 2 Mt Vernon after a two week illness. Funeral at Merg Chapel with Rev Maurice L Rien officiating. Burial in Boyd cemetery. He lies in state at Myers Chapel after four Saturday. Survived by widow of Boyd, one son Dwight of Mt Vernon, five daughters, two brothers and eight sisters, and eleven grandchildren.

Horace Fickle Former Resident Dies in St. Louis

Horace M. Fickle, 49, formerly of Mt. Vernon, died at 3:30 a.m. today at his home in St. Louis. Funeral services set for 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Calvin Funeral Home, 4428 Natural Bridge. American Legion will conduct burial. Survivors include Jus and James of Belleville, two sisters Mrs. Lee Brock of St. Louis and Mrs. George Troutt of Mt. Vernon.

Atomic Blast Would Dig New Arctic Harbor
