Obituary: Rosa Ann Bigham Dies at 79 in Mt Vernon
Rosa Ann Bigham of 719 South 23rd Street died at 9 45 pm Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospital after a four day illness. She was 79 years, three months, and 19 days old. Funeral services will be at 1 30 pm Sunday at Myers Chapel with Rev Paul Worley, burial in Cotton Cemetery Perry County. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel after 3 pm Saturday. Born December 13, 1881 in Perry County, she is survived by son Randall of Mt Vernon, daughters Edrina Wiehn and Bernadine Caldwell of Mt Vernon, Roberta of Pinckneyville, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church.

Four Year Old Boy Struck By Car On Spruce Drive

In Terre Haute Indiana AP report a 46 year old Clinton resident Lynton Mose Fisher avoided a blast at the Viking coal mine after his doctor ordered rest. Twenty two miners perished deep in the shaft while others escaped by chance including Norman Price who moved before the explosion and a miner who missed work due to a spat with his wife.
