Affie Myers 75 died today at Good Samaritan Hospital after a lengthy Mt Vernon residence. Funeral Friday at 1 30 p m at Myers Chapel with Dr R B Guthrie officiating. burial in Thomason cemetery. She was born June 25 1879 in Nebraska and survived by brother Earl of San Francisco with other siblings preceded in death. Meets church and fraternal affiliations.

Arrest Doctor For Hypodermic Needle Attack

Savannah Ga. A young Air Force doctor, Capt. Frank W Johnson of the 2nd Medical Squadron at Hunter AFB, was arrested Tuesday night and charged with assaulting Edmund Rahal with a hypodermic needle. Rahal said he was stabbed three times in the arm and hand.

Koreans Die in Pusan Railroad Car Fire

Thirty-nine Koreans perished when a Seoul bound train car caught fire at Pusan railway station. A U S Army spokesman said the blaze began in a loaded passenger coach and spread rapidly, leaving no chance for escape. No U S military personnel were aboard.

The Weather Bureau forecasts a colder March in the Far West and northern third of the United States. Above normal temperatures are likely over the southern half east of the Continental Divide, especially Texas, with near normal elsewhere. A bill filed in the Illinois House would let counties handle sale and distribution of passenger car license plates. Before purchase, motorists must show payment of personal property taxes. A 400 pound tombstone stolen ten days ago from a Waynesburg monument works has been returned. Police report the stone’s return came as mysteriously as its theft and the case remains under routine inquiry.

Mother Jailed Over Son's School Truancy in Philadelphia

Philadelphia magistrate jailed Emma Campbell for three hours after she could not pay a $20 truancy fine for her 14 year old son James who left school to work as a house painter.
