The St Louis market reports price ranges for eggs by size and grade as well as hen and broiler figures. Various grades show wide spreads with large eggs at 30 to 33 cents and smaller sizes around 18 to 19 cents, with wholesale and unclassified grades noted.
AP reports Thursday estimates for Livestock National Stockyards with hogs at 7,000 head and cattle at 800 head. Barrows and gilts 160-300 lbs 17.50-20.00, sows 300-650 lbs 15.50-17.00. Cattle 1,500 head, steers 22.56-24.75, heifers 21.00-23.75, vealers 27.00-38.00, calves 18.00-23.00. Sheep 600 head, woolled lambs 20.00-22.25, shorn lambs 22.00, woolled ewes 5.00-8.00.
Chicago area AP summary notes live poultry roasters 23 14 to 25 cents and red white rock fryers 19 to 21 cents. Chicago Mercantile Exchange prices show butter graded AA 66 and others, Cars at 90 B 65 and 88 C 62. Eggs graded A whites 32 percent and mixed 324 percent among others with various size categories.
New York AP reports stocks rallied after the Fed increased lendable funds for banks. By noon the Dow rose 5.67 to 845.04, the Dow Jones industrial average up 6.45 earlier, and the AP 60 average up 1.9 to 315.0. Bonds also gained as investors rushed in, with heavy trading and a 9 to 2 gain to loss ratio.
Jimmy McMinn twenty of Aurora died from injuries after a collision between his station wagon and a Chicago and North Western Railway train Monday. He succumbed Tuesday in Geneva Ul. The accident occurred near the crossing as police investigated the fatal mishap. He leaves family and friends in Aurora and Geneva.
US forces in Vietnam and near the DMZ press the war effort with long range artillery firing on targets in North Vietnam and the DMZ. Marine units report heavy fighting below the DMZ and along the South China Sea coast as air operations continue despite losses. An F105 pilot, Capt James S Walbridge, was rescued after a successful bailout. In Operation Junction City, Viet Cong ambushed a US infantry unit near Tay Ninh, heavy fighting ensued, and enemy casualties were tallied at over 271 with continued clashes and a gas incident amid the action.

Warner Route 6 for speeding, Sybil Morgan Rankin Ill for speeding, Eddie Magee Chicago for speeding, Hugh Wagner Appleton Wis for improper passing, Harold Johnson Chicago for speeding, and Gordon Peterson Chatham NL for speeding.

The target date for the merger of Santa Monica based Air craft Co. and M Donnell Co. of St. Louis is April 28. Stockholders of the two aerospace firms will be asked to approve at meetings April 19.
Sufficient cause to hold Arthur Hofer Jr., 42, on a murder charge was found at a preliminary hearing before Associate Circuit Judge Alvin Lacy Williams. Hofer of 1100 Conger had bond lowered from 25000 to 15000. Buhler, 56, of 1517 Perkins Avenue, was found dead January 19 in the yard of his former wife. Autopsy showed head blows contributed to the death. police say Hofer and Buhler fought the previous night. Hofer denies striking Buhler with a hammer found in the home.
Judge Herbert C Paschen delays start of the murder trial and distributes copies of his reply to the Illinois Supreme Court suit filed by the Chicago Tribune. The suit challenges his ground rules for news coverage as unfair and potentially unconstitutional. Paschen argues the issue is the accused's right to a fair trial and cites amendments 6 and 14.
Six Mt. Vernon area youths pleaded guilty to stealing gasoline from a farm pump southeast of Given. Associate Circuit Judge Alvin Lacy Williams imposed probation ranging from six months to three years. Two thefts were reported yesterday one to Mt Ver non police and one to the sheriff. Harley Morlan of 407 South 15th Street said an air compressor was taken from a garage at his brother James Morlan's home in the 1000 block of Westcott. Max Garrison reported batteries and several radiators stolen from a garage at his home northeast of Opdyke, with total value about 110 dollars.
A report said a skunk was placed in Joe Wrights car while his son attended a ball game near the high school. Police have no concrete evidence yet and the animal had been removed by filing time.
In Carbondale the primary produced two mayoral candidates. David Keene led with 2,080 votes and will face incumbent D Blaney Miller who gathered 1,352 votes. The results set a fall runoff to decide the next city leader.
