Thunderstorms covered a wide region with moderate to heavy activity from Western Texas to Southern Oklahoma and the lower Ohio valley. Isolated storms also hit Arkansas Kentucky Indiana Alabama and North Dakota with scattered showers on the Atlantic coast upper Mississippi valley and northern Great Lakes. Temperatures ranged from 48 to 97 across California and other areas. The forecast called for additional thundershowers in Kentucky Tennessee western Carolinas northern Alabama and Georgia with scattered activity in the Atlantic coast and northern Rockies while much of the nation remained mostly sunny.

Brief Lawsuit Settled Over Transformer Failure
Southern Illinois Stone Co. and Central Illinois Public Service Co. reached an out of court settlement after a circuit court dismissal.
