SANTIAGO Chile AP Anaconda Co s huge copper mining interests in Chile will be sold to the Chilean government in an agreed upon nationalization President Eduardo Frei announced Thursday night. The company said in New York it agreed to the deal to avoid expropriation by the government of Chile through legislation. The plan worked out in month long negotiations is still subject to corporate legal requirements and stockholder approval of the subsidiaries involved, an Anaconda spokesman added.
