Charlie Buttermore of Woodston Kansas died Saturday in Woodston. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the United Methodist church. Survivors include his wife and several sons and daughters including Mrs. John Wielt of Mt. Vernon.
In Chicago delegates at the Students for a Democratic Society national convention ban press access during workshops. Police guarded a school across from the Coliseum as bomb threats prompted patrols. Several hundred delegates attended the session with loud protests and chants.
City fire department was called to 10th and Broadway to extinguish a fire in a truck owned by Slater Distributing Co. The blaze started at 5:35 p.m. caused by a short in a battery cable, which firefighters disconnected.
Clark Clifford shifts from hawk to advocate beginning a withdrawal of 100000 U.S. troops in 1970. Mr and Mrs John Smith of 734 Fairfield Road welcomed a son born at 4:00 this morning June 19 at Good Samaritan Hospital. The baby weighed eight pounds ten and a half ounces.
Israeli patrols killed eight Arab infiltrators on the occupied Golan Heights and near the Gaza Strip. Four Syrian reconnaissance unit members were killed near Khoushnoye on the cease fire line. Hens heavy 12 to 13, light over 5 percent pounds 10, under 5 percent pounds. Six broilers and fryers too few to report prices.
National Stockyards Iowa Illinois Texas market report shows Friday estimates with hogs at 6 000 to 8 000 head and cattle 200 to 1 100, calves 50 to 150, and sheep 50 to 300. Hogs mostly 25 lower for various weight ranges, cows 20 to 22.75, bulls 24.50 to 26, sows 21 to 22.25, boars 17.25 to 20. Cattle steady to mixed with steers 33 to 34 for 850 to 1 100 pounds and vealers 31 to 40. Sheep lambs 27.50 to 29.50, ewes 5 to 9.

New York AP report shows a midday Dow Jones drop of 4.33 to 882.76 with broad losses across major groups. The Associated Press average fell 1.3 to 313.9 as industrials and rails declined while utilities were nearly unchanged and a few high priced issues like IBM rose slightly.
Harold Fred Hollway the former Benton postmaster received a three year probation after pleading guilty to misappropriating more than $8 000 in postal funds and making a false entry in a cash book. The offense occurred between September 15 1968 and February 19 1969 and Hollway was suspended and resigned in March.
CHICAGO AP Students at the University of Illinois Champaign Urbana will have final authority over recreational and cultural programs in the student union. The change follows a policy compromise based on Chancellor J W Pettason and the faculty senate. Previously the union director and administration held final power since 1941 while the student union board mostly advised. The trustees completed a two day annual meeting Wednesday afternoon.
The Illinois Senate passed an emergency measure to grant Southern Illinois University Carbondale 1,148,762 dollars for replacing Old Main Building destroyed by arson. The bill, needing two thirds, passed 39 votes and now awaits House and Governor Ogilvie approval.

At 4 22 p.m. Diana Harris 15 and taxi driver George Groothuis 62 collided at 15th and Perkins. Harris arrested for disobeying a stop sign. taxi $100 damage and Harris car $75. At 5 13 p.m. Wilbur Derry 48 and Frankie Owens 17 collided at 6th and Main. Derry car $100 damage, Owens $75. Owens arrested for failure to yield at a stop sign.
The FBI released a Tolson letter defending a wiretap on Martin Luther King Jr noting it was approved in advance in writing by the late Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy. Tolson criticized Carl T. Rowan for a June 1969 article calling for Hoover's resignation as scurrilous.
Berkeley city attorney Robert Anderson announced that a Swiss insurer will not honor personal and property liability claims, effective June 27, due to the city being a high risk amid ongoing disturbances since December 1964. Berkeley will seek another carrier, though reputation for turmoil makes it difficult.

Three spray paint vandalism incidents were reported to city police. Jerry Sodders of 109 33rd street said someone painted the headlight of his car. Bill Clark reported paint on the Recreation Club on North 34th Street. Mrs. D A Sapper of 1915 Lake Street said her house was sprayed.
