Funeral services will be 2 p m Monday at Richardson Funeral Home Wayne City with Rev Lloyd Trotter and Ora McRill. burial at Dickeyville cemetery. She was born July 5 1888 in Wayne county, daughter of A J Cates and Elizabeth Withrow Cates. Survived by brother Paul Cates and sisters Gertie Tibbs Jane Bobbs and Dorothy Henson.

Boy Murderer Gets 30 Years
A 15 year old boy, Lester Lee Deffenbaugh of Lacon, pleaded guilty to shooting farmers Stanley Jensen and Marjorie Jensen at their Milks Grove Township farmhouse on May 25. He was sentenced Friday to 30 years in prison after previously being paroled from the Illinois State School for Boys.
