River Pirate Bank Robbers Get 25 Years
Two men from St. Paul Minnesota pleaded guilty to robbing First State Bank of Grounds Illinois and were sentenced in EAST ST LOUIS for 25 years each. Ferrissee and Kerner received 15 years for the bank robbery and five years for unregistered sawed off shotguns and conspiracy. The sentences run concurrently. They were captured after fleeing with more than 36800 across the Ohio River in a speedboat. Further federal prison placement will be decided by the U S attorney general. Ferrisse has a long criminal record dating to 1938 and Kerner to 1943.
