Dance the Night Away in Shangri La
A Mt. Vernon Arts and Humanities Ball transformed the Jewel Tea warehouse into an oriental ballroom. Guests entered via a floating sampan by Sue Grigg, with a 14 foot Ho-Tei Buddha designed by Dr. Raymond Coss and walls lit with mountains and pagodas. Music by Rend Lake Area Jazz Band and Mark Gifford trio accompanied colorful centerpieces by Mrs. Carolyn Spencer.
