A group including L O Tate Glen E Cole Henry J Kent Roy Holt James Breeze Glen Murphy and Glenn Collens attended the Shrine Carnival in Salem. Mrs K R Briner of Roswell NM leaves after two weeks with the Schreck family. En route she will visit East St Louis Ill. Mrs Knox Johnson and Mrs Nellie Wielt return from Kansas City Mo. Mrs Kermit Chase of Wayne City visits Mt Vernon. R L Clinton returns to St Louis for the weekend. Mr and Mrs M E Jackson and sons Gene and Jimmy return from a two week vacation to Colorado Springs Manito Springs and Lake of the Ozarks. Harmon Irvin of Opdyke and Everett Kitfle of Wayne City visit Mt Vernon. Mrs Jack Trout and Mrs J J Hoberer of Christopher transact business in Mt Vernon. Mr and Mrs Elmer Parker and son Harold plan a vacation to Wisconsin and Michigan. Patsy Johnson returns from San Luis Ranch Camp at Colorado Springs Colo. Mrs Ella Oelle and son of Ina visit Mt Vernon. Walter Webb of Lesser spends day in the city. Mrs Ruby Holt returns from a business trip to St Louis Mo. Mrs Clyde Todd of Carbondale visits Mt Vernon. Youth Revival Climax at Mt. Vernon City Park

The two week Youth for Christ revival at Mt. Vernon City Park ends Sunday night August 1 with a series of services. A Saturday 8:00 p m short service then campfire at a large lighted cross follows a 9:00 consecration in the park. Sunday at 2 30 Rev James B Sessions from Fairmont WV shares his life story with music. All are urged to attend the remaining services.

Marriage of Biford Wilson and Mildred Briesearcher

The double ring ceremony took place in Mayfield Kentucky on Saturday July 10 with Rev. Lewis Anderson officiating. Bride Miss Mildred Briesearcher wore blue pin-check and red accessories. groom Biford Wilson is from Mt. Vernon and works for J P Devine Co. They reside at 910 South 22nd Street Mt. Vernon after a Dayton honeymoon. Mrs. Erma Briesearcher was matron of honor. Amos Breeseacher was best man. Both families are from Mt. Vernon.

Alpha Johnson of Wayne City Dies

Alpha A. Johnson, 82, widow of James Edward Johnson, died at noon at her daughter’s home in Fairfield. She lived most of her life four miles north of Wayne City. Funeral services are planned for Sunday afternoon at Hopewell.

Robert M. Daniels pleaded guilty to killing three Niebel family members in Mansfield Ohio after being arraigned before Municipal Court Judge H. H. Schlettler. The case concerns a homicide spree that left six dead.

Fills $2,500 Bond In Knife Gun Case

Anonia Tvory a 25 year old colored woman was arrested after a shooting and stabbing spree that injured four people. She posted a $2,500 bond before Justice of the Peace O E Yandell and was released from jail. Victims Edna Eggleston 24 Louise Lewis 28 Freeman Teaberry 38 and Joe Louis Bussle 21 were treated at local hospitals and are said to be recovering. Charges of assault with intent to murder were filed against Tvory.

Hartwell Vaughan infants born in Fairfield and Paducah

Mr and Mrs Max Hartwell Vaughan of Fairfield welcomed a son named Gary Len at Good Samaritan Hospital this morning. Mr and Mrs Homer R Arnold of 1227 Jefferson Street Paducah Kentucky welcomed a daughter named Donna Kay born July 16 at Riverside Hospital in that city weighing seven pounds twelve ounces.
