Mt. Vernon Man Shot Self After Bell Operator Call
Delvin Mullinax, 43, of 915 S 17th St, was in serious condition at Good Samaritan Hospital after telling an Illinois Bell operator he planned to kill himself. A police and ambulance response followed as Mullinax discharged a gun during the call, and he was admitted to the coronary care unit for emergency treatment. Police commended the Bell operator Imogene Wilson for her conduct during the incident.
