Brazen hold up at A and P store shocks shoppers
A bold armed robber entered the A and P store, pretended to shop, rolled a grocery buggy, and after a brief stroll returned to the counter, pointed a revolver at the cashier and demanded money. The intruder then fled without buying anything. Local police search for the suspect.

Terry Lowen age five sustained a severe bruise to the left arm and elbow after a fall Tuesday afternoon while visiting the C. L. Wood home in Wayne City. He was treated at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital where X rays showed no broken bones. Terry, a Joliet resident, was at Wayne City with relatives at the time of the accident.

Bloodmobile in Mt Vernon Friday Seeks 80 Pints
