Funeral services for John Barton of Seattle will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gholson Funeral Chapel McLeansboro with burial in Hebron cemetery. Donations to Emanuel Baptist Church in Seattle are requested in lieu of flowers. He is survived by his wife Alma Lee three children parents and a sister.

Robbery Suspects Nabbed After Cairo Jeweler Heist

In Cairo two men, George Wilson 28 and Larry Kelly 23, robbed a local jeweler of 1400 dollars in diamond rings. They fled in a car stolen in Aurora, Illinois, later stopping at a Wycliffe station to trade a ring for gas. State police intercepted the car and took the pair into Ballard County Jail without charge. most loot recovered from the vehicle and arrest site.
